Midnight Madness DT- MMSC103

It's time for another sketch challenge this week at Midnight Madness.

Enter one style or both this week. Isnt it great, so many interesting details!!! I was so lucky this week to work with this gorgeous image from our weekly sponsor,McMahon Five Designs. They have some amazing images, and I chose to work with Christmas Dreamer, as I thought she was SOOOO gorgeous!!!

I used Basic Grey Jovial paper for this card, and layered lots of gold ribbon for the accent pieces. This paper is so gorgeous, it just went perfectly with this image. I kept it simple, as I wanted this beautiful image to the focal point.

Here is the artsy view of my card. I added rhinestones for some bling and added interest. The sentiment is a chipboard piece that I had in my stash.

House of Gilli DT - Layers and Stitching

This week at House of Gilli we have a great challenge, Layers and stitching. I chose to use October Afternoon Thrift Shop Paper and some Graphic 45 scraps I had in my stash, and pair it up with Nurse Gilli. I thought they made a perfect bright and cheery Get Well Card.

For my stitching, I used a faux stitching stamp from Crafty Secrets that I have had FOREVER. I love the way it looks, real from far away. I do not have a sewing machine, so stitching was a hard task for me. LOVE how this looks, and SUPER simple.
I colored Nurse Gilli with copics:

Skin- E000, E00, R20

Hair - E25, E31, E50

Dress and Hat - Y15, Y13, Y11, Y00, R27, R24, R22

Shoes- C7, C5, C3
I added lots of flowers, of course, from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also added another one of my hand-made stick pins to the flower arrangement. I love the added bling it adds. I also used some Doohickey Dies, Tilda Lace Border, and Swirl, for added layering. The yellow silk ribbon was tied in a double bow for another layer!

Making a Scene

I had SO much fun making this card. I loved coloring all these images together to create this cute Spring scene.

I used some October Afternoon Thrift Shop Papers. I love the bright, yet vintage feel of the papers. I know a lot of the papers were covered up in this card, but really, they are gorgeous. I chose to stick with the yellow and turquoise, as I love the color combo, and it is just such a happy scene. I added a white paper lace doily to the background for another layer of interest. I followed the sketch at Magnolia-licious for this card. Although, it is a bit hard to see under all the layers, but it is there, I promise!!!
For the scene, I used three different Magnolia Stamps; Romantic Window, Tilda in Butterfly Dress, and Magnolia with Butterfly. I just love how this scene turned out, isnt it adorable. Just looks like a perfect spring day of picking flowers for Tilda and her puppy! I colored the scene with copics (too many to list, sorry), and added stickles onto the flowers for some added bling .
Here is the artsy view of my card. I added a sentiment circle from the Lili of the Valley Dreamy Days set, which I used yellow stickles and copics on. I love this stamp set, the sentiments are AWESOME!! I also added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers (duh, it wouldnt be one of my cards without some flowers! LOL). I used white 25mm wild roses, which I painted with Patina Glimmer Mist to match, yellow two toned 25mm roses, yellow cherry blossoms, yellow 15mm roses, and white 15mm roses again painted with Patina. I also punched out some turquoise branches with my Martha Stewart Frond Punch. I have been making stick pins lately, so I also added a hand-made stick pin to the flower arrangement! This is going to be my new addiction, I can tell. It is so easy, and super pretty to add to cards!!!
I finished off the inside of the card with more of the gorgeous design paper and a pretty Marigold Silk ribbon and bow. There is tons of space for a personal note!

I was so excited to be chosen as this months Guest Designer over at Oldie But A Goodie! It is so much fun to go through some older stamps that have pushed to the back for new ones. I love pulling them out and inking them up to play! This week at Oldie But A Goodie, the challenge is Say it with Flowers! EASY PEASY!!! I love pulling out my flowers!

I decided to ink up this cutie Lili of the Valley stamp, Rosie Posy. Isnt she just adorable??!!!! LOVE her!!! I teamed her up with some flowery Prima papers from the Annalee collection. LOVE this paper pad, so pretty and springy colors. Just lovely.

Here is the artsy view of my cad. I used some vintage lace that I had in my stash, along with some hit pink silk ribbon. The flower arrangement is all Wild Orchid Crafts flowers - White Gardenia, Hot pink 25mm roses, yellow cherry blossoms, light pink 15mm roses. Behind the roses, I bunched up some pink tulle that I recycled off of a present I received for my birthday. LOVE how it turned out. The pink butterflies were punched with my Martha Stewart Monarch punch, and I added some pearls to the butterfly centers and the corners of the card.

This week I have a guy card for you, using a super cool image from Bonibleaux Designs, who is our sponsor this month. They have some amazing and funny guy images, which are perfect for father's day or just an all around guy card. Thisweek I chose to work with Sk8tr Skip. He just called to me, and I HAD to use him, isnt he awesome!

I used some of the all guy stack I have from Yellow Bicycle. I dont make masculine cards often, but when I do, I always reach for this paper stack, just LOVE it!

I changed up the sketch, just a bit, as I used buttons as embellishments instead of the flowers that the sketch suggests. I LOVE my flowers, but thought it might look weird on this "boyish" card. Thought that the buttons were a better option!

Addicted to Stamps - recipe - 2 papers, 3 Flowers, 3 Half Pearls

This fortnight at Addicted to Stamps, we have a recipe challenge for you. 2 papers, 3 flowers, and 3 pearls. Easy right? That is also what I thought when I got started, but it posed to be a bit of a challenge for me. I had such a hard time limiting myself to only three flowers and only three pearls, it totally threw me for a loop! Although, I do LOVE the way my card came out, it was a challenge for me to get my mojo flowing. LOL!

I used some of my Prima Melody collection paper pack, which I LOVE. The colors are just gorgeous, love the palette that the stack has, one of my faves!! (Some of my fellow DT members say I have a knack for BOLD colors. WAVES ladies!!!) I chose to team it up with the adorable Magnolia stamp, Circus Horse. Although I HATE the circus (I am terrified of CLOWNS, uugghhhh), I think that this Horse is so stinkin cute. Looks to me more like a carousel horse than a circus horse to me anyway, at least that is what I tell myself so that I do not have nightmares. (true story!!! LOL)

I added some lace and mint silk ribbon to my card. The flowers I used are by Color Me Crazy. I sprayed them with Denim, Lilly Pad, and Indian Corn Glimmer Mist to match the design paper. Then I added some pearl centers to the flowers and used my Doohickey leaf die to punch out some leaves/branches. The sentiment is from my Lili of the Valley Dreamy Days (my new FAVE) set, which I cut cut out with Standard Circle Nesties. I love it!!
