House of Gilli DT - Pastels and Bling

This week over at House of Gilli, we are working with pastels and bling. Anyone who knows me, knows I am NOT a pastel fan, so when I saw this challenge topic, I cringed a little. LOL But really, I was worried that I would not be able to pull it off, it was definitely a challenge. But, I really do LOVE how this card turned out. It did not change my mind regarding pastel colors, but I am a fan of these Gilli stamps, and think the card as a whole turned out great!
I found these new papers by K&Company at my local Michael's. They are called Sweet Nectar, and I got them in the 6x6. I really like this paper pad, as it has so many different color options. There are pastels, but there are also some bright springy colors too. Gotta love it!
I chose Burlesque Gilli for this week. Isnt she a doll??!!! I colored her up with copics:
Skin - E000, E00, R20
Hair - E25, E57, E59 (I added a green prima mini flower to her hair, isnt it cute!)
Clothes - R00, R0000, R81
Shoes - W1, W00
Feather - G20, G21, G24, YG03, R81, R01
Background - W00, R0000, R01, YG03, R81, E51
I stickled everything I could get my hands on on this image for the bling. I also used my Atyou Spica pen in clear over the smaller areas for some added sparkle.
Here is the artsy view of my card. I finished off the card with some Wild Orchid flowers. Pink 25mm roses, and two-tone light pink 15mm roses. I also added some pink Recollection pearl swirls. The big pink bow is recycled from a gift I received for Valentine's day from my hubby. The ribbon was so pretty, I could not think to throw it away. I think the HUGE bow finishes off the card well.
I kept the inside of my card VERY simple. I used more of the design paper, and another pastel pink flower I found in my stash. I left a blank sentiment spot to write a personal note.
I hope you pop on over to Stamping Scrapping and pick up some Gillis of your own to play with, they are adorable, and perfect for every occasion. Then come on over to House of Gilli and join us for our challenges. You get two chances to win the fantastic prizes when you use a Gilli stamp.

I used one of the digi images from our sponsor this week, Deedee's Digis. The DT got to choose what image they wanted to use, and I knew right away that I wanted to use this cute Cup of Joy. I love the flowers coming out of the tea cup, and the sentiments that come with the set are fabulous too!!! I cut out the image with Labels 10 Nesties, one of my faves!!!!
I colored my image with copics
Flowers - YR18, YR12, Y02, G20, G82, YG99, G24
Cup - N0, YR18, YR12, YR00, YR0000
I added stickles to the orange band on the coffee cup and to the center of the flowers for some added bling.
Here is the artsty view of my card. I used some of my 25mm roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. They were white and I used my Star Burst Stains from Lindy's Stamp Gang in Red Hot Poker Orange to color them orange to match the papers.
I used one of the sentiments from the Cup of Joy set to add to the inside of the card. I love this!!! It is just so pretty, an finishes off the card perfectly. I cut it out with my oval nesties

DCD Christmas Club - DT -Starlight, Starbright

Our challenge this week over at DCD Christmas Club is to use stars. Easy right?? Well, I struggled with this one, dont know why. Oh well. Here is my creation using stars for this weeks challenge.
I used American Crafts Holiday pack from a few years ago. I love the crispness of the papers in this collection, lots of white. The background paper had stars on it, so I chose to base the rest of the card on that.
I cut out some stars with my cricut and George and Basic Shapes cartridge on red and green cardstock. Then I added Diamond Stickles to the them for some sparkle! Shine on!!!!! LOL
The sentiment is from my temie, Lynn. Isnt is great???!!!!! I teamed it up with Starlight Tilda for my image, and I just completely ADORE her. She is so stinkin cute.
I colored Tilda with Copics
Skin - E000, E00, R20
Hair - E25, E35, E31, E50, YR20
Dress - W1, W00, G20, G21, G24
Tights - G20, G21, G24
Wings - Y15, Y13, Y11
Star wand - Y15, Y13, E33, E31
I added gold stickles to Tilda's wings and star wand for added shimmer.

DCD Christmas Club - DT -Inspired by a Song

I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, underneath the Christmas Tree last night........lalalala. Its kinda funny singing Christmas songs in my head in the beginning of March, but that is what I was doing while I was making this card. Our theme this week over at Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club is... Inspired by a song.
I love this image from my teamie, Roberta, and could only think that it would be perfect for "I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus". Whatcha think?????
I used some of My Mind's eye Holiday paper stack, which I adore!!! It is so glittery and pretty (not sure of the pics pick up all the shimmer). I used some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers as an accent. I painted a 25mm white rose with Wheatfields Glimmer Mist to match the design paper, and added two 15mm red roses. I finished off the arrangement with two punched branches from my Martha Stewart branch punch, LOVE that thing.
I printed the sentiment from my computer, and then used my Magnolia Doohickey Vintage tag die to cut it out. I think it finishes off the card perfectly!
I colored up this cutie with copics.
Skin - E00, E000, R20
Hair - E25, E31, E27, E50
Coat - R29, R27, R24, R22, G24, G20, G21 ( I added Frosted Lace stickles to the fur around her coat. I LOVE this look, as it gives sparkle and dimension, while making it look like real fur.)
Hat - R29, R27, R24, R22, W1, W00, G24, G21, G20
Boots - W3, W1, W00
I distressed the image panel with a splatter stamp by Tim Holtz using Fried Brick Distress ink.
I hope you will join us this week at Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club and pick out your fave Christmas tune to inspire your card!

Spring Hugs!!!

I am SOOO ready for Spring. Here is a card I created for a few challenges, and I will also be teaching this card class on March 19 at my local Stamp Store, The Stampin Post.
I used some of the new Graphic 45 paperline, Cirque. I just love the bold colors of this paper line. Although, I am terrified of clowns, so I will only use the papers that have plain patterns in this collection. I cannot even look at clowns without nightmares. LOL It is pretty terrible.
I used Tilda wants a Hug and Spring fence for this card. I masked the images together, and I just love the way they look. I tried a few new color combos on this image, and think they look great. I wanted to try to match the bold colors of the paper as much as possible.
I colored this image with copics -
Hair - C9, C7, C5, C3
Skin - E000, E00, E11, R20
Dress - E40, E41, E42, E43
Socks - E08, E09, E04, R22
Fence - W1, W00, W3
Grass - YG03, G97, G99, G20, G24
Here is the inside of the card. I kept it simple so a sentiment could be added later. It also showcases more of the gorgeous paper. I used my Tilda Lace Doohickey die for the lace border, LOVE that thing.

House of Gilli DT - Use Green Challenge

Here is my card for this weeks challenge over at the House of Gilli Blog. The theme this week is to use green. Well, this was kinda a hard challenge for me, as I do not use a lot of green, so I had to search through my paper collection to find something "Just right". Well, I think I did just that!!! I used my Graphic 45, Once Upon a Springtime paper, and I just LOVE the way this card came out.
I used Jeans Gilli for this card, and I think she might be my favorite. She can be used for so many different occasions, so I made an ALL OCCASION card to show that off. I also added the Gilli Flower Border to the outside of my image panel. I stamped it with Antique Linen Distress ink an then distressed the edges.
I colored Gilli with copics
Skin - E00, E000, R20
Hair - E31, E53, Y23, Y11
Shirt - G24, G20, G21
Jeans - B97, B95, B91
Shoes - E50, E33, E25, E27
Here is the artsy view of my card. This paper is so versatile, I just had to use every single scrap, did not want any of it to go to waste.
The inside of the card is finished off simply with more of the design paper and more distressing. I hope you will pop on over to the House of Gilli blog and join us for this weeks challenge, use green.

Here is my card for this weeks sketch challenge. For this weeks challenge, I got to use one of the images from our weekly sponsor, Digistamps4joy. I chose to use Cindy, as I thought she was just so adorable, laid-back, and cool.
I used some blue and cream colored paper from my stash. I have had it for so long, I dont have any idea who makes it, sorry! I chose to accent the blue and cream with pink. I love this color combo.
I colored up this cutie with copics -
Skin - E00, E000, E11, R20
Hair - Y11, Y23, E31, E35
Shirt - R85, R83, R81
Skirt - B97, B95, B91
Shoes - E40, E42, E43
I distressed the image panel with Victorian Velvet distress ink. I used my Magnolia star border stamp to stamp along the edges too. The setiment, LOL, is from a Greeting farm Set that I have.
This inside of my card is finished off with some more of that patterned paper and a small pink ribbon.
I added a flower arrangement to my card, I know, absolutely SHOCKING for me. LOL. I painted white roses with Starburst Stains from Lindy's Stamp Gang. The two leaves are white newspaper leaves from Recollections. I sprayed them with Denim Glimmer mist to match the colors of the papers. I also finished off the card with some pink rhinestones. So cute!!!

I hope you will join us this week at Midnight Madness, I cant wait to see what you create.
