Pin Cushion

This project was featured on Flutter By Wednesdays!!!

I was totally inspired by Kylie's Pin cushions (WOW are they gorgeous!!!!), and decided to give it a whirl and try one out for myself. I am participating in a couple of stick pin swaps and I need a place to store all of them once I receive them. I loved her idea, and wanted to try it out. Now, granted her's are GORGEOUS, and mine is ok, but no where near the level of hers. I do not sew, nor do I own a sewing machine, so mine is all hand-stitched. But, I like how it came out anyway.
I used some Pink Chinese silk fabric that I had in my stash from my knitting days, and hand stitched the little pouch. Then I used a piece of canvas and stamped the Magnolia Beautiful Tilda on it with Memento ink. I colored Tilda with copics. There is not much blending that can be done on canvas, so I chose to stick with basic colors and blend as much as I could. Then, I stitched the canvas piece to the front. I also stitched a ruffled piece of lace around the center of the entire cushion for extra embellishment. Then, using my hot glue gun, I attached the fabric lollipop flower and some Tim Holtz trinkets. I looped a ribbon at the top so that it could be hung from my craft room wall.
this project was quick and easy, once I got started. Thank you so much Kylie for the idea and inspiration, you are one talented lady!!!!
