Let's embark on a New journey!! I am hoping to have many new adventures and embark on new journeys this year, and I thought this was the perfect little card to showcase my excitement for some new adventures in 2011!!!
I used the color scheme challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog, which is Orange and green. To be honest, I did not really like this color combo and did not think I was going to enter the challenge. Then, I was cleaning and organizing my craft room, and I came upon these Graphic 45 papers, and I thought, "wow, I LOVE those papers together". Then this little easel card was born! I LOVE how it turned out and all came together, and I am so glad that I challenged myself with these colors. I used Tilda with back Pack from the Bon Voyage collection. I received this image from a swap, and I just LOVE her, and am going to add her to my next purchase. So cute! I think she goes great with my sentiment which is on the inside of the card.
I used lots of distress on this card. I distressed all the edges with my distress tool, added Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain to all the edges. I also tore some of the edges and stapled with my Tiny Attacher to show the backside of the patterned paper. I love how it looks.
The roses were painted with Olive Vine Glimmer mist, and then I added mini brown roses and Orange Cherry Blossoms, along with some leaves to finish off the arrangement.
I colored Tilda with copics

Skin - E000, E00, R20
Hair - Y11, Y23, E35

I cut Tilda out with my Nestie Label 8, and distressed the background with Tea Dye and Walnut stain Distress ink.
The inside of the card has the sentiment "embark on a new journey" from a Greeting Farm set I have. I love this sentiment. I cut it out with my nestie labels die. I distressed the inside panels of the card also, and added a green silk silk bow. This ribbon was white, and I sprayed it with my Olive Vine Glimmer mist to change to color to match my card.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
