Father's Day Edwin

This card won Top 5 at Magnolia Down Under Challenges!!!

I have been seeing so many CAAUUUTTTEEE masculine cards around blogland lately, and wanted to give one a try too. I struggle with masculine cards, as my hand automatically reaches for flowers and pearls, but I like how this one turned out. I have a few father's day cards to make, so I figured i might as well get started!
I used Graphic 45, A Proper Gentleman, paper for this card. I love the prints of that paper pad, they look like old tie patterns and I just adore it for boy cards, such rich tones. I distressed all the layers with Vintage Photo distress ink. I paired the paper us with Edwin Wants a Hug from the So Special collection, he is one of my faves! LOVE him, he is adorable. I also stamped around the edges of the image with the Star Border, also from the So Special Collection, in Rusty Hinge Distress ink.
I colored Edwin with copics.
Skin - E0000, E000, E00, E21, R02, R30
Hair - E27, E23, E50
Shirt and Shoes - E43, E44, E42, E40
Tie - E08, E07
Vest - C0, C1, C3, C5, C7
Pants - B99, B97, B95, B91, 0
I added the sentiment printed out on my computer. I cut the stars out on my cricut from the design paper, and layered them over some ribbon for a banner effect. I also added lots of Tim Holtz ideology pieces. I used some gears and sprockets, a mini paper clip, a mini safety pin, and some film ribbon as embellishments. I love the way it turned out, very masculine indeed!
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
All that Scraps - Father's day
Simon Says - Stars and Stripes
Charisma - Boy oh Boy
Paper Sundaes - Vintage
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Your Favorite Stamp

I used K&Company Jubilee papers for this card. I love the vibrant turquoise and purple, so pretty. I teamed these pretty papers up with Tilda with hawaiian Flower. Isn't she just a doll? I cut her out with layered nesties - Large Oval and Labels 10, which I added some brown pearls to.

I used the Doohickey Tilda's lace die to add a border to the purple panel. I added Doohickey Heart Fence and Doily flowers to the card for added embellishment. I then added a white 25mm rose which I sprayed with Pashmina Glimmer Mist. The butterfly was punched using my Martha Stewart Monarch punch and some of the design paper.

I love working with Basic Grey papers, and love the challenges these ladies do, so I am thrilled to continue to work with them full time!
This week our theme is Shabby Chic. EASY PEASY!!!!!
When I think of Shabby Chi, I think of distressed white(ish) papers, so I was on the hunt through all my Basic Grey papers to find something I could use. I decided to mix it up, and used Basic Grey Curio and Jovial papers. I ran both of them through my Distrezz-it-All machine to really distress them good. Then I inked all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink I added a 6" Lace paper doily, which I scrunched up and also distressed with Vintage Photo for a very shabby look. I paired my papers up with a little scene I created with Magnolia stamps. I used Tilda in rain boots and Tulip Walkway.

OMG, someone pinch me! I am SOOO excited to have been asked to join the LaLa Land team and the Summer Release Blog Hop today!!! I hope you enjoy this hop and all the creations along the way.
I chose Marci with Flower to work with for my card today. Isn't she just a doll??!!!! I made a circle easel card (my first one of this type, and I think I LOVE it!) to showcase Marci. I cut the Kraft base and design paper out on my cricut, and it was super easy to put together from there! I used Basic Grey Sultry design paper. I love the colors, so bright and warm for spring/summer cards. I scrunched up some white lace around the back of the top and bottom panels to give the card a super girlie feel!
I wanted it to look like Marci was working out in her garden, so I used my Doohickey Heart Fence die to cut the picket fence out of Kraft. Then I added lots of Wild Orchid Flowers. I used hot pink, green, and two-toned light pink 25mm roses, pink and yellow gypsophila stems, hot pink cherry blossom, and yellow and pink 15mm roses. Doesn't Marci have the most colorful, bright, gorgeous garden???!!!

I paired the papers up with this cutie image, Hello Little Butterfly. I cut the image out with my oval and beaded oval nesties, and also added stickles to the outside for some bling! Midnight Madness DT- MMSC105

Its time for a new sketch over at Midnight Madness!

"YOUR CHOICE"

Enter one style or both this week.

Just have fun and come play with us :)

Here is my card using this weeks sketch.
I used My Mind's Eye Holiday Lane Christmas paper, which is SUPER glittery and pretty. I paired it up with my image for this week, Down Through the Chimney, from our monthly sponsor this week, Bonibleaux Designs.
I colored the image with copics
Chimney - E19, E18, E12, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00
Santa pants and hat - R29, R27, R24, R22, B0000, C00
Boots - C9, C7, C5, C3, C1
Stockings - R29, R27, R24, G24, G21, G20
Here is the artsy view of my card. I had to flip the sketch in order to fit my image. Also, I added bows instead of the ribbon buckles, as I did not have any ribbon buckles in my stash. But, I love how it came out with the bows, matches the feel of the card perfectly! I used some clear rhinestones along the bottom. I did not have red rhinestones, so I colored the clear ones with R27 copic marker in order to get them the color I wanted. I love how they stand out against the paper.
I hope that you will come out and join us this week for our sketch challenge at Midnight Madness. We have some awesome prizes this week. Our MMSC105 Weekly Bonus Sponsor is...

Copic inventory journals

I created these journals to keep track of my copic colors and color charts. I love how it came out, and just wanted to share it with you quickly.
I used two pieces of chipboard for the front and back covers, covered them with K&Company designer paper, and edged them with Antique brass crackle paint. I bound the book together using my CINCH machine. Then I tied ribbon on the binding and added a dangle charm. I paired all this up with Magnolia Tilda with Heart, as she is one of my fave images. I added simple embellishments since I did not want the cover too bulky since it is going on a shelf. I used my Doohickey swirl and doily flower dies and a pearl. Then added some lace and a turquoise silk ribbon.
I colored Tilda with copics.
Skin - E000, E00, E11, R32
Hair - E99, E97, Y23, Y11
Dress - BG10, BG72, BG75, BG78
Shoes - E44, E43, E42, E41, E40
Socks - W00, W1
Heart - R83, R85, R81, RV10
I used a dotty background technique for the background behind Tilda.
I added a Tim Holtz Swivel clasp to the binding and added some charms for an added touch.
